The exhibition «Good morning City!» is dedicated to communal housing projects during Viennese post-war modernism. It displays settlements on the edge of the city from the 1960s and 1970s, which were constructed using the newly introduced prefabricated building method.
The title «Good morning City!» plays with their former defamation as mere bedroom communities. It invites visitors to take a closer look and visit the tenements in order to gain an insight into their architectural and spatial qualities. The selected dwellings are introduced by the means of photography as well as historic and contemporary film recordings, portraying the communal housing program as a matter of democracy and social policy.
